Quad Kids Event

On Friday 24th May, Mulbarton entered 40 pupils from year 3-4 to take part in 60m run, 400m run, standing long jump and vortex howler throw. I have to say how fantastic they all were. They challenged themselves in every event and some recorded a personal best. The 400m was the race they all were quite worried about but, every one of our pupils did not give up and finished the race with pride.
In the afternoon ,it was year 5-6 who broke many records for running and throwing. Again they tackled the events with style, their races were slightly longer 80m and 600m  but, excelled in both.

Year 3-4 came third and just missed out on a county final, year 5-6 came sixth. A brilliant day, thank you so much for representing Mulbarton and making me very proud to be a part of it!

Kwik Cricket.

Two teams  went to Eaton Park last week to participate in a series of cricket games. The bad weather had other ideas though ,and we only managed to play one game, both of which were won. Unfortunately, the event was rescheduled on our sport's day so we couldn't go. A big thank you to both teams for their excellent commitment in  giving up their lunch hour to practice for this event.

Cup Finals
The local Mulbarton football teams have been very successful recently with winning their cup finals. Well done to under 8's for their victory, also under 9's  as well. I was very fortunate to watch the under 11's last Saturday in a  thrilling cup final which they beat Bungay, who had been undefeated for the past two seasons 4-0. A stunning hat-trick from Liam Ireland and a fourth belter of a goal from Jude George. Absolutely fantastic achievements from all of you, well done!

May Events

This month sees Mulbarton taking part in three different sporting events. Next Wednesday May 8th, two teams from year 5 will be at Eaton Park to play some Kwik Cricket (11:00 - 4:00).

Friday May 17th,  16 pupils will be at Eaton Park again for a year 3-4 Mini Tennis Tournament ( 1:00 - 4:00).
.
Friday May 24th, Quad Kids event at the UEA Sportspark.  The format is different to last year as 40 pupils from year 3-4 will participate in the morning (10:00- 12:30) and 40 pupils from year 5-6 ,yes year 6, will be participating in the afternoon (2:00- 4:30).

Parents are very welcome to come along to these events.

Basketball

On Thursday year 6 played their final games of the basketball tournament. Both teams were put in the same league after round 1 as their were 15 school teams taking part. Both teams won their final games and Lloyd's team finished runners up in league 1. Kieran's team finished  third with both teams only losing to the eventual winners St Francis.Another excellent performance from both teams.
Congratulations to Riley Bell, Daniel Kaszczak and Lloyd Slaughter who successfully qualified for the County basketball team, another amazing achievement for the boys and all of us at Mulbarton are extremely proud of you all.

Friday was the swimming gala. Mulbarton entered 13 pupils in 4 different strokes. All  results are on the SSP Norwich website. Nicholas, Colby, Joshua and Henry all won their races. Isabella .C narrowly missed out on first place. For many of these 13 it was their first gala. I was very proud of all their placings and a very big thank you to Isabella Parry and Alexander …

Busy Sports Week.

Last week, Mulbarton had a busy sporting events calendar .First up, the year 1 boys who were  invited by Norwich Community Sports Foundation to take part in a series of  mini 4 a side football games at Colney, Norwich FC training ground.
